Project Summary:
1. Second project will be to protect 4,000,000 acres of rainforest in Suriname.
- Containing 3 billion tons of carbon and tremendous biodiversity.
- Roughly 93 percent of Suriname is covered by rainforest
- Suriname has not yet crossed the tipping points associated with large scale forest loss, making preservation far more cost effective and ecologically sound.
2. Continuing to support The Noke Koi nation in Brazil
- Helping to support the Noke Koi nation by supporting their burgeoning businesses in agroforestry and helping them protect their homeland from illegal incursions.
- Improving Sanitation
- Further supporting their businesses by providing them with buildings to build their crafts
3. We will continue the work in Costa Rica and expand it to Mexico. This project will:
- Plant over 1400 acres of mangrove forest.
- Protect over 13,000 acres of mangrove forest.
- Sequester 3.6MM tons of carbon.
- Protect critical habitat nurseries for a tremendous amount of biodiversity.
- Provide jobs for indigenous women in those areas.
