We raised $80,000 in support of these projects.
Project Summary:
1. We will continue the work in Costa Rica and expand it to Mexico. This project will:
- Plant over 1400 acres of mangrove forest.
- Protect over 13,000 acres of mangrove forest.
- Sequester 3.6MM tons of carbon.
- Protect critical habitat nurseries for a tremendous amount of biodiversity.
- Provide jobs for indigenous women in those areas.
2. Second project will be to protect 750,000 acres of rainforest in Guyana.
- Containing 60MM tons of carbon and tremendous biodiversity.
- Guyana is one of the greenest counties in the world.
- 85% of is covered in rainforest, of which roughly 20% is occupied by indigenous tribes.
- We will be helping these tribes protect this rainforest:
- Helping them secure their livelihoods by transitioning to a market-based economy thought methods which protect the rainforest.
